Cyprus truly has something for everyone, wether you want to party all night in the many bars and nightclubs in Ayia Napa, sunbathe on one of the many fantastic beaches or take a romantic stroll along the beautiful harbour town of Paphos, Cyprus has it all. Try out the mouth-watering local dishes in one of Limassols many taverns and restaurants, hire a car and take a drive up to the famous Mount Olympus, shop till you drop in the capital Nicosia, then take the kids to one of the many water worlds the island has to offer. Cyprus will not disappoint, the locals are extremely friendly and you do get good value for your money.

Travel tips

To truly take in all the sites hiring a car is recommended at around £30 per day. Most places will take you less than two hours drive plus you drive on the left-hand side of the road the same as back in the UK.

Check out Aphrodite's rock where according to legend, the goddess of love emerged from the sea.

For a cost of around £70 each, you can go on a two day cruise to Egypt and see the pyramids at Cairo for yourself. The trip is a bit rushed but is well worth it.

Local specialities

Moussaka, kleftiko, kebabs and the famous Greek meze, that can include over 30 separate dishes consisting mainly from meat or fish so make sure your hungry before ordering one. Cyprus produces many wines and brandy's and is also extremely cheap for prescription glasses with many half the normal price you would pay back at home.
